HOUSING WORKS ANNOUNCES OPENING OF NEW "BY THE POUND" STORE IN MANHATTAN ON APRIL 17!
Clothes sold in bulk for $3 per pound; hidden gems abound!
New York, NY (April 4, 2008)--Housing Works is pleased to announce the opening of its new bulk clothing store, By the Pound, at 330 W.38th St. between 8th and 9th Avenues in Manhattan. Open for business starting at 10am on April 17, By the Pound will sell clothes for $3 a pound.
By the Pound is a no-frills goldmine for folks who need inexpensive apparel or label hunters willing to bestow a little love on slightly damaged name-brand items. Chanel suits that need some darning, old-school GAP T-shirts and good-but-not-perfect vintage furs have all been discovered at past Housing Works bulk sales!
By the Pound will be open on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 5pm. By the Pound will be closed Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
All profits from By the Pound go to Housing Works, the nation's largest grassroots AIDS service organization. Housing Works' mission is to end the twin crises of AIDS and homelessness. It provides an array of lifesaving services to poor and homeless New Yorkers living with HIV, including medical care, housing, meals and job training.
Stay tuned for Housing Works Thrift Shops events later this spring celebrating the opening of By the Pound!
